Engineers and applied scientists wanted in our Irwindale, CA office to help initiate and lead innovative Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) projects for the government. Positions will usually be part time at the start to become full-time at project initiation.
BS and 5 years related experience required. MS desired. Experience, and demonstrated success, with SBIR proposal development and writing is required. Degree areas of interest include Atmospheric Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, and Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical and Marine Engineering. Specific disciplines of interest include Hypersonics, Thermal Sciences, Aeronautics, Aerodynamics, Astronautics, Astrodynamics, Orbital Mechanics, Power Systems, Material Science, Mechanical Design, Communications, Computer Network Architecture Design, Robotics and Automation, Mission Design, Mission Analysis, and Systems Design.
Candidates could already live in the metro LA area or could initially work remotely. If currently employed, candidates should consider this as an augmentation to current employment with potential for future transition to full-time employment. Ideal candidate will be a self-starter interested in creating his or her own future.

An Aerospace Engineer Intern is needed to support exciting and multidisciplinary aerodynamic, space and marine projects for the US Government.
Requirements include support to: 1) a small team developing wind tunnel test articles, sensors, tunnel and ground test plans, and the measurement, collection and analysis of test data for the US Government; 2) preliminary design of planetary mission and systems atmospheric balloons and entry, descent and landing systems; 3) a lightweight reentry system design project that includes running our 3 DOF reentry trajectory software tools to determine aerothermal environment and system design requirements such as thermal and mechanical loading requirements; 4) independent research and development of defense and planetary system concepts and technologies; and 5) preparation of white papers and proposals for new business.
This position has an immediate start date. Position is currently part-time (8-16 hours per week) with possible full-time employment during the summer.
