Global Aerospace is developing
a patented technology for a lightweight, gravity-deployed
and stabilized, modular solar array that has a variety
of potential power generation applications including
stratospheric balloons, space tether systems and commercial,
industrial or residential power systems.
The major innovations include:
- Concept for two-axis Sun pointing which does not
require rotation,
- Lightweight mechanism for deploying and restowing
a solar array in a gravity field, and
- Lightweight solar array substrates.
